The first trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past has been released.
Bryan Singer's first film in the franchise for a decade combines the cast of the original trilogy with that of X-Men: First Class, with Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen returning as Xavier and Magneto alongside James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender as their younger counterparts.
Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Ellen Page, Anna Paquin, Halle Berry and Nicholas Hoult are among the other returning cast members.
Serving as a sequel both to X-Men: The Last Stand and First Class, Days of Future Past sees the X-Men fighting for the survival of the human race across two time periods.
The original trilogy's characters join forces with their younger selves in order to change their pasts, and thereby prevent a terrible future.
X-Men: Days of Future Past will be released on May 22, 2014 in the UK, a day earlier than the US release on May 23.
